Before you use MediGuide

By accessing or using MediGuide - including by creating an account, browsing content, posting a review, or subscribing to a paid plan - you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and MediGuide (hello@medi-guide.co.uk).

01

About MediGuide

MediGuide (“MediGuide”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://www.medi-guide.co.uk and all associated services (collectively, the “Platform”).

MediGuide is an online educational platform for UK medical professionals and trainees - including foundation doctors (FY1 and FY2), core trainees (IMT and CST), specialty trainees, and consultants registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). The Platform provides two core services:

  • Medical Guideline Summaries - structured, revision-friendly summaries of medical guidelines; and
  • Hospital Insights - a verified-only space where users may share and read insights about medical training rotations.
MediGuide is an educational resource intended for learning, revision, and understanding UK medical guidance. It is not a clinical decision-support tool, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for the original guideline source or independent professional judgement. Clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of the registered medical professional, made in accordance with relevant official guidance.

The Platform is hosted in the United Kingdom. If you access the Platform from outside the UK, you are responsible for compliance with local laws applicable to you.

02

Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. The Platform is intended for healthcare professionals and trainees. By creating an account, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age;
  • All registration information you provide is true, accurate, and complete;
  • You will keep your registration information up to date; and
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If you provide information that is false, inaccurate, or misleading, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@medi-guide.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account. We may remove, reclaim, or change a username we consider inappropriate or objectionable at our sole discretion.

03

Subscriptions & Payment

Paid Plans

MediGuide offers a free tier alongside paid MediGuide+ and MediGuide Pro subscriptions providing enhanced features. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and other major payment methods supported by Stripe. All payments are in Pound Sterling (GBP).

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information and to keep it updated so we can complete transactions and contact you as needed.

Billing & Renewal

Your subscription renews automatically on a monthly basis unless you cancel. By subscribing, you consent to recurring charges to your payment method without requiring prior approval for each renewal, until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your account. Cancellation takes effect immediately and access to paid features ends at the same moment. Already-paid subscription fees for the current billing period are non-refundable except where required by applicable law - we recommend downloading any information you wish to keep before cancelling.

Price Changes

We may change subscription fees from time to time. We will give you reasonable prior notice of any price change in accordance with applicable law. Continued use of the paid plan after the new pricing takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fee.

04

Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform - including guideline summaries, software, database structures, design, text, graphics, and logos (collectively, “Content”) - is owned by or licensed to MediGuide and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit any Content without our express prior written permission. Any breach of these intellectual property rights will constitute a material breach of these Terms and your right to use the Platform will terminate immediately.

To request any use beyond the scope above, contact us at hello@medi-guide.co.uk.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe any material on the Platform infringes your copyright, please notify us promptly at hello@medi-guide.co.uk with details of the alleged infringement. Please note that you may be liable for damages if you make a materially false claim.

05

User Contributions & Reviews

Your Content

The Platform allows users to submit reviews and insights about hospital rotations via the Hospital Insights feature (“Contributions”). You retain ownership of your Contributions. By posting a Contribution, you grant MediGuide a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that Contribution as reasonably necessary to operate the Platform.

You are solely responsible for your Contributions. By posting, you represent and warrant that:

  • Your Contribution is based on your own genuine firsthand experience;
  • Your Contribution is truthful and not misleading;
  • Your Contribution does not breach patient confidentiality or disclose identifiable patient data;
  • Your Contribution does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • You have the right to post the Contribution; and
  • Your Contribution complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Review Guidelines

When posting reviews or ratings, you must:

  • Write only from firsthand experience of the rotation or hospital being reviewed;
  • Be factual and fair - you may not post false or defamatory statements;
  • Not include offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language;
  • Not disclose patient information or identifiable clinical details;
  • Not make conclusions about the legality of any conduct;
  • Not post reviews as part of any coordinated campaign, whether positive or negative.

Moderation

We reserve the right - but not the obligation - to review, edit, or remove any Contribution at any time at our sole discretion, without notice, if we consider it harmful, defamatory, in breach of these Terms, or otherwise objectionable. Removal of a Contribution may result in suspension or termination of your account.

MediGuide's Role & Content Removal

MediGuide is a platform operator, not the publisher or author of user-submitted reviews or insights. We do not endorse, verify, or assume any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or fairness of any Contribution. We expressly disclaim all liability arising from reviews or insights that contain defamatory, inaccurate, misleading, offensive, or otherwise harmful content directed at any individual, hospital, NHS trust, or other third party.

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or permanently delete any Contribution - without notice and at our sole discretion - where we reasonably consider it to be in breach of these Terms, defamatory, harmful to a third party, or otherwise objectionable. This includes Contributions identified through our own moderation process or reported by any user or third party. Removal of a Contribution does not constitute an admission of liability on our part and does not entitle the submitting user to any refund or compensation.

06

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Breach patient confidentiality or disclose identifiable medical data of any third party;
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory statements or content that harms the reputation of any individual, organisation, or institution;

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Impersonate another user, person, or organisation;
  • Harass, intimidate, bully, or threaten any other user;
  • Post discriminatory content on the basis of race, religion, sex, gender identity, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
  • Post threats of or content that incites violence;
  • Solicit personal information from other users;
  • Systematically scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Platform using automated tools or scripts;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's security, functionality, or infrastructure;

  • Use the Platform to compete with MediGuide or for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted;
  • Sell, transfer, or otherwise dispose of your account to any third party; or

07

Data Protection & Security

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data and maintain platform security. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You agree not to attempt to access, collect, or infer data beyond what is explicitly made available to you through normal use of the Platform.

08

Disclaimer

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MediGuide makes no warranties - express or implied - regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any Content on the Platform, including guideline summaries.

Guideline summaries are educational aids only. They do not replace the original guideline source, clinical judgement, or up-to-date professional training. MediGuide accepts no responsibility for clinical decisions made in reliance on Platform content.

Reviews and insights posted by users represent the personal opinions of those users. MediGuide does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for user-generated content, and it does not necessarily reflect our views or those of any affiliated organisation.

We do not guarantee that the Platform will be available at all times, free from errors, or uninterrupted. Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, technical issues, or other factors outside our control may affect availability.

09

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MediGuide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational damage.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total subscription fees you have paid to MediGuide in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) £50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable English law.

10

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MediGuide and its officers, agents, and employees from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (1) your Contributions; (2) your use of the Platform; (3) your breach of these Terms; (4) your violation of any applicable law; or (5) your violation of any third party's rights. We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification at your expense.

11

Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time from the Account Settings page.

Immediate and irreversible. When you confirm account deletion, your profile and all associated personal data are permanently removed from our systems the same moment. There is no grace window and no restoration process. You will receive one email confirming the deletion.

Paid subscriptions. If you have an active paid subscription at the time of deletion, that subscription is cancelled with immediate effect. Already-paid subscription fees for the current billing period are not refunded except where required by law. We recommend cancelling any active subscription and downloading any information you wish to keep before requesting deletion.

Hospital Insights you have submitted are published anonymously by design and remain on the Platform after account deletion so they continue to inform other doctors. We are unable to attribute or retrieve anonymised submissions on request.

Termination by us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform - including your account and any associated data - at any time and without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in conduct harmful to other users or to MediGuide, or if required to do so by law. If your account is terminated for breach of these Terms, you may not re-register under another name without our express permission.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations accrued prior to the termination date, and Sections 4, 8, 9, 10, and 13 shall survive termination.

12

Platform Changes

We reserve the right to modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Platform or any feature thereof.

We may also correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in Platform content at any time without prior notice.

13

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Subject to the dispute resolution process below, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer habitually resident in another jurisdiction, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in your country of residence.

Informal Resolution

Before commencing any formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by written notice to the other party. We will endeavour to respond to and address concerns within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of written notice, either party may pursue formal resolution through the courts.

14

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your account, or by a prominent notice on the Platform, before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

We recommend you review these Terms periodically. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
